Open House at MIT to Focus on Graduate Opportunities in Transportation

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-The New England University Transportation Center,
located at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will sponsor a
Dec. 1 open house at the MIT Student Center to highlight regional
graduate education opportunities in transportation studies throughout
New England.

Faculty from MIT, Harvard and state universities in Connecticut,
Massachusetts and Rhode Island will participate.

The program, arranged by Thomas F. Humphrey, director of the New
England center and a senior research associate at the MIT Center for
Transportation Studies, begins at 9am and includes two hours of
presentations from various faculty. The afternoon session is a tour of
the Central Artery/Tunnel project in Boston, for which trousers and
hard-soled shoes will be required.

This is a unique workshop for undergraduate students interested in
transportation studies to interact with professors and students from the
participating schools who will be available for discussion and
questions. Students can also learn about career opportunities, financial
aid possibilities and the application process.
