Seminar to focus on senior housing

Selecting the best retirement living situation will be the topic of a seminar on Wednesday, Nov. 19, sponsored by the Association of MIT Retirees.

The speaker will be Nancy C. Peters of Cambridge Elder Choice, an agency devoted to helping seniors with their living arrangements. The talk will take place at 11am in Bartos Theater in the Wiesner Building (E15). Refreshments will be served at 10:30am.

A health-care professional with a background in rehabilitation, Ms. Peters has had wide experience in developing and managing retirement facilities.

She will discuss congregate housing, assisted-living facilities and continuing-care retirement communities, and what seniors should look for when considering their future housing needs. She will suggest ways of evaluating social considerations such as lifestyle, residential mix and activities along with physical concerns such as location, care level and price.

Parking for the seminar will be available in the CRA lot at Broadway and Ames St. (enter from Ames off Broadway).
