Meeting to include resolution on von Hippel 100th birthday

A resolution congratulating Institute Professor Emeritus Arthur von Hippel of electrical engineering and computer science (EECS) on his 100th birthday (November 19) will be presented to the faculty at its regularly scheduled meeting today.

The resolution, drafted by Professor Markus Zahn of EECS, will be presented to Professor von Hippel's son, Professor Eric von Hippel of the Sloan School, by President Charles M. Vest. It will be the third item on the agenda of the 3:15pm meeting.

This portion of the meeting will be videotaped and presented to Professor von Hippel, along with the framed resolution, at a family birthday celebration on November 21.
