Speaker suggestions wanted

The Commencement Committee invites suggestions for the guest speaker at MIT's Commencement exercises on Friday, June 2, 2000, from all members of the community. The speaker should be one who can address topics of relevance to MIT.

Written suggestions may be dropped off at the Undergraduate Association Office in Rm W20-401, the Graduate Student Council Office in Rm 50-222 or the Information Center in Rm 7-121. Suggestions may also be sent to Hugo Barra, president of the Class of 2000, hbarra@mit.edu ; Luis Ortiz, president of the GSC, wolff@mit.edu ; Gayle Gallagher, executice officer for Commencement, gayle@mit.edu ; or Professor Eric Grimson, chair of the Commencement Committee, welg@ai.mit.edu . The deadline is October 1.

All suggestions will be reviewed and a list will be submitted to President Charles M. Vest for consideration. The list will not be made public. The responsibility and authority for selecting a Commencement speaker and issuing an invitation will rest with President Vest.
