MIT police cite two students for alcohol violations on New Year's Eve

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--MIT Campus Police broke up an unauthorized party of about 100 at Alpha Tau Omega on New Year's Eve, arresting four non-MIT party-goers and issuing citations to an MIT freshman and a sophomore for serving alcohol to minors. Charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct against the four non-MIT youths were dismissed in Cambridge District Court on January 3.

Sanctions for the citations include a fine, an alcohol education session and a meeting with a dean. The Interfraternity Council and the dean's office will determine sanctions against ATO, whose house is located at 405 Memorial Drive, Cambridge. The MIT students cited are both members of the fraternity.
