Three named as new HHMI investigators

Three MIT professors -- Angelika Amon, the Howard and Linda Stern Career Development Assistant Professor of Biology; Stephen P. Bell, assistant professor of biology; and H. Sebastian Seung, assistant professor of computational neuroscience in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences -- are among 48 scientists around the country named Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) investigators on May 8.

They join 305 other investigators in HHMI, a medical research organization that enters into long-term research collaboration agreements with universities and other research organizations where its investigators hold faculty appointments.
