India activist to speak at TCF


Vandana Shiva, director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy, will speak at the next Technology and Culture Forum on March 16 at 7pm in Rm 10-250.

The moderator will be Professor of Biology Jonathan King.

Frequently cited as an expert on issues concerning Third World bio-diversity, Dr. Shiva is a world leader in the International Forum on Globalization and has fought for the rights of ordinary people in India. Before becoming an activist, she was one of India's leading physicists. She holds a master's degree in the philosphy of science and a PhD in particle physics.
