Deutch to speak on combating terrorism

John M. Deutch, Institute Professor and former director of CIA, will give a talk on "Combating Catastrophic Terrorism" on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. in Room 26-100.

Professor Deutch will address questions that have arisen since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, such as: Where can the present US military action lead? What are the important catastrophic terrorism threats with which we should be concerned? How can the federal government better organize itself to deal with homeland protection? What are the dangers and pitfalls? What can intelligence do to help protect the American people? What should MIT do?

The talk is sponsored by the Department of Chemistry. For more information, e-mail emg@mit.edu.
