Prize-winning essays sought

Essays are now being accepted for the Kelly-Douglas Traveling Fellowship and the I. Austin Kelly III Essay Prize. Both are due in the music and theater arts office in Rm 4-246 by 5pm on Wednesday, April 11.

Fellowships of $1,000 will be awarded to juniors who are committed to a project in the humanities or arts that requires travel. This is only the second year for the I. Austin Kelly/Richard M. Douglas Fellowship. Complete submission guidelines are available in Rm 4-246 and on line.

Prizes of $627 will be awarded for two essays, which must be essentially humanistic in aim and style but may concern any area in the humanities, arts or social sciences. All full-time MIT undergraduates (except former Kelly Prize winners) are encouraged to submit historical, analytical or sociological essays written during their years at MIT. This is the 27th year for the I. Austin Kelly III Essay Prize. Complete submission guidelines are available in Rm 4-246 and on the Kelly Prize web page.
