Competition open for student artists

The entry deadline for the annual Harold and Arlene Schnitzer Prize in the Visual Arts is Monday, March 31. Three prizes and an honorable mention ($1,500, $900, $600 and $200) will be awarded to registered MIT students based on a body of work.

Artists must submit at least three pieces of original work, or one piece of original work and visual representations of other originals (slides, photographic prints, etc); a written personal statement on the artist's intent as it pertains to his or her works and art in general; and a completed application form (available in rooms W20-429 and E15-205). Materials should be brought to the Student Art Association in Room W20-429, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Winning entries will be displayed in the Wiesner Student Art Gallery from May 12 to June 27. For more information, call 253-7019.
