Service to humanities

Dean Philip S. Khoury (center) presents the Dean's Award for Distinguished Service to the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences to professors Richard J. Samuels and Suzanne Berger for their leadership in international education and research at MIT. Samuels is the Ford International Professor of Political Science, director of the Center for International Studies and founding director of the MIT Japan Program. Berger is the Raphael Dorman and Helen Starbuck Professor of International Relations and founding director of the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI). Each received $10,000 stipends along with their plaques.
