The first occupants of the Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information, and Intelligence Sciences are scheduled to move into the building beginning the week of March 14, though final construction work is continuing.
Members of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems, and the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy are scheduled to move into the building over the next several weeks.
Among other amenities, the Stata Center will include a child care center for 80 children, slated to open June 1. Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 19 (see MIT Tech Talk, Feb. 25).
Among the areas still under construction are elements of the fourth-floor terrace, including seminar rooms, a faculty dining room, and social spaces. This will not affect the move-in schedule because the affected space is separate from the main research and office areas. The entire project, including landscaping, will be completed in time for the dedication ceremony in early May.
