Mechanical Engineering Professors receive Khan, Martore Awards

Two professor of mechanical engineering have been recognized for their work.

Lallit Anand, professor of mechanical engineering, was awarded the Khan International Medal for outstanding lifelong contributions to the field of plasticity. Anand was recognized for his seminal contributions related to the development of plasticity theories at large strains; large-deformation, high-temperature isotropic viscoplasticity; large-deformation crystal plasticity; and the development of attendant robust numerical methods.

Daniel Frey, associate professor of mechanical engineering, has been awarded the Joseph A. Martore (1975) Excellence in Teaching Award for outstanding contributions to education in the Engineering Systems Division.
