MIT students visit with Rwandan president

Kagame, who delivered the 2008 Compton lecture, discusses water, energy solutions with D-Lab participants.


Rwandan President Paul Kagame recently hosted seven students from MIT who were visiting the country as part of the Development Lab (D-Lab) Program at the Institute.

The students who met with the leader were Marisa Simmons, Jonathan Kola, Wunmin Wong, Daniel Bulmash, Faith Keza and Nseabasi Umoh; they had been working with local organizations to promote water technologies, sanitation and energy solutions, and shared their experiences with the Kagame.

President Paul Kagame came to MIT in fall 2008 to deliver MIT's prestigious Compton lecture, titled: "Imperative of Science and Technology in Accelerating African and Rwandan Development."
