Toast to Tech marks end of MIT150 on June 4

Institute community invited to the final anniversary celebration.

Raise a glass, have a slice of anniversary cake and connect with the community during Toast to Tech — set for 9:30 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, in Killian Court. This event marks the official end to MIT's 150th anniversary celebration.

This festive event will feature live entertainment — including fireworks over the Charles River — plus commemorative souvenirs and a 24-foot-long, 1,000-pound cake. Toast to Tech is open to alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends.

The event is part of Tech Reunions, which includes more than 100 alumni activities taking place over Commencement weekend. The 145th Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday, June 3).

Since Jan. 7, the Institute has been marking its 150th anniversary with symposia, community events — including the Next Century Convocation, on April 10, and the Under the Dome open house, on April 30 — and more. Although Toast to Tech will close the official 150 days of celebration, some MIT150-related activities will continue such as the MIT150 exhibition at the MIT Museum and online features such as the Infinite Histories profiles and interactive timeline.
