On the evening of Thursday, April 18, MIT Police Officer Sean Collier was shot and killed in the line of duty following an altercation at the corner of Vassar Street and Main Street on the MIT campus. A makeshift memorial has been set up near the spot where Collier was shot, and community members and others have left messages, flowers and more in tribute to the slain officer.

The Institute is currently planning commemorations for Officer Collier, and details will be released as they become available.
