The YMCA Achievers program brings together professionals from the Greater Boston community to serve as role models and mentors by providing community service to YMCA’s youth programs. The 2013-14 YMCA Achiever from MIT is Debroah Hodges-Pabon, personnel and operations administrator in the Microsystems Technology Laboratories.

The YMCA Achievers program is dedicated to helping all urban youth reach their fullest potential. Many of Boston's youth graduate high school and are left to navigate the college process by themselves. From College Path to the Summer Institute, the YMCA Achievers program provides educational enrichment opportunities to prepare students for college and career. The Achievers Program is part of the YMCA of Greater Boston, the largest provider of social services in Massachusetts. For the past 39 years, MIT has been a sponsor of the Achievers Program by supporting the community service work of the awardees.

"We are proud to acknowledge and honor Debroah’s many contributions in the workplace as well as in the community," says Alyce Johnson, manager of staff diversity and inclusion in MIT Human Resources.
