The MISTI Global Seed Funds (GSF) enable MIT faculty to collaborate with international peers, either at MIT or abroad, with the aim of developing and launching joint research projects.

MISTI GSF comprises a general fund for projects in any country and several country funds with their own requirements. Funding may be used to cover travel, meeting, and workshop costs to facilitate international projects and collaboration. In 2014, MISTI received 205 requests for funding, and 97 projects were awarded a total of $2.1 million. Over $2 million is available in the current grant cycle.

This year’s the MISTI GSF include funds for projects in Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Peru.

To read more about GSF projects, visit student and faculty "Notes from the Field."

The application deadline is Monday, Sept. 21. For more information and to apply, visit misti.mit.edu/faculty-funds or email misti-gsf@mit.edu.
